All of you will be starting your PhD at our faculty this year, congratulations! To welcome you to our faculty, we invite all of you to an introduction event especially for new PhD students!
Welcome event? Do you find yourself lost in the complicated buildings of our faculty or in the historic city of Leuven? Fear no more! We will give you a tour of the building in which you will discover secret rooms, hidden exits and the best way to have coffee. Afterwards we leave for the city center for a small tour past the best lunch options, ice cream parlors, coffee stops and we may or may not pass some historical buildings on our way.
Will there be food? Yes! After the tour, we head back to the faculty buildings for a pizza evening to get to know each other a little better. And drinks? Yes! Drinks are on us (soft drinks and wine).
When? Wednesday October 12th. The tour starts at 5pm in the main hall of the HOG (in front of the faculty library entrance). If you already know your way around the buildings and the city, then you can skip the tour and meet us at 7pm in the cafeteria for pizza!
Ok, I’m in! Where do I register? You can register in office 02.104 (close to the elevators on the second floor) with Laura Nurski. Please bring 5 euro when you register, if you want pizza afterwards. Drinks are on us!
By the way, what is Economics Doctoral Circle? Economics Doctoral Circle is a PhD student organization at the Faculty of Business and Economics. We organize several social events throughout the year, such as quizzes, BBQ’s, games night,… and we keep you informed about other interesting things that go on at the university.
Feel free to invite your first year colleagues, it could well be that our mailing list is incomplete. We hope to see many of you there!
