IT infrastructure introduction session

To introduce the faculty's computer network to new personnel, and to give all of us the opportunity to refresh our knowledge, the IT department plans a new IT infrastructure introduction session on Tuesday October 26 from 11.00AM - 2.00PM in HOG 01.85. The session will be presented in English as soon as one non-native Dutch speaker is attending and questions can be asked in both languages.

The following topics will be covered (among others):

• User IDs and passwords
• Who is who, how to find more information and how to contact the IT department
• Applications in the cloud, on the web, on your desktop, on our computing servers
• Network drives, network printers
• Tips and tricks for Outlook/Exchange mail and calendar
• On the road and at home: web based access to information, e-mail, network
• Limits, good acceptable use policies, do's and don'ts

These sessions received high appraisal in the last years and are essential for efficient usage of the computer infrastructure. Even those working here for several years will benefit from an overview of all new functionality.
